All research involving a human as a research subject must be subject to mandatory ethical review, and prior to conducting such research, it is necessary to obtain the approval of the ethics committee.
The first joint Kazakh-Malaysian clinical center «MedStartUp» approves all research conducted by the company in the local ethical committee. During the study, all relevant information is taken into account in the EC.
The purpose: is to protect the dignity, rights and well-being of participants in clinical trials both subjects and employees of the research center.
The Ethics Committee also operates to ensure that the public is protected by research participants.
Tasks:
- to evaluate independently and objectively the ethics, safety and integrity of human rights in relation to subjects, both at the planning stage and at the stage of conducting study (testing);
- to evaluate the compliance of the study with humanistic and ethical standards;
- to make special consideration to protecting the rights, safety and well-being of vulnerable study subjects;
- to determine the feasibility of each study;
- to assess the compliance of researchers, technical means, protocol (program) for conducting a study, selection of study subjects, quality of randomization with the rules for conducting clinical trials;
- to monitor compliance with quality standards for conducting clinical trials to ensure the reliability and completeness of data obtained during clinical trials as well as respect for the rights and interests of study subjects.
